A step-by-step walkthrough. You'll enable external agents, connect one, approve it, and test it. Takes about 5 minutes.

External agent connections are disabled by default. Turn them on in settings.
Go to Settings and find the External agents section. Toggle Enable external agent connections on and save.
This is a workspace-level setting. Once enabled, all agents in your workspace can connect to external agents (with governance approval).
Paste the agent's URL. Cadreen fetches its Agent Card to see what it can do.
Go to your agent's External tab and click Connect an external agent. Paste the agent's URL — this is the address where it publishes its capabilities.
Cadreen validates the URL, fetches the Agent Card, and shows you what the external agent can do. You'll see a consent screen before anything is connected.
Review what the external agent will be able to do. Accept or decline.
The consent screen shows you exactly what the external agent will be able to do and what it won't be able to see.
Click Accept to approve the connection. The external agent is now linked to your agent.
Send a task to the external agent and see how it responds.
Once the connection is active, your agent can send tasks to the external agent. The interaction goes through your governance rules — every cross-platform interaction is evaluated before execution.
You can monitor the interaction in the External tab. Click the connection to see the interaction history.
Check the interaction log to see what happened.
Every interaction with an external agent is logged. Click See all interactions on any connection to see the timeline — what was sent, what was received, how long it took, and whether governance approved it.
You can suspend or revoke a connection at any time. Suspended connections pause communication. Revoked connections are permanent.
You now have a connected external agent. Your agent can talk to agents from other systems — with permission, with governance, and with a full audit trail. You can suspend or revoke anytime.
